Hi

It seems to me that the "old" Tomcat 5.5.20 was doing session 
serialization by default, whereas the "new" Tomcat 7.0.25 doesn't, which 
I think is rather a pity. IIUC one needs to set

org.apache.catalina.session.PersistentManager
